Adobe Premiere Pro CC released a new update(April 2017) filled with an arsenal of new features.

Already considered by many to be the “nonlinear industry standard”, Premiere continues to make editing videos more efficient and creative.

type-tool-premiere-proFirst, adding type to your video used to involve multiple, time-consuming steps. Now there is a type tool built right in the toolbox offering lots of choices and flexibility. You can also now create shapes and animate them on a time line as well.

Second, there is a new graphics feature called “essential graphics” allowing you to compose shapes, type and graphics on multiple layers within one element. This gives you better organization on your timeline.

Next are the “Motion Graphics Templates”. These are great because you can import pre-existing templates and modify it’s type, colors and actions right within Premiere.

Finally, an improved audio set up gives you many more options to modify and enhance voice and music tracks. This is found in a panel called “Essential Sound”.

Adobe’s pro video editing software makes it easy to work with footage, audio and other graphics thanks to all the new updates. Take advantage of these features in your next video, commercial or web banner.

Creating the GDUSA Award-Winning Biovanta Website & the Relationship Behind It

Winning a GDUSA award is always exciting because it’s both a celebration of our designers’ hard work and a time to reflect on our partnership with a client in relation to the project itself. We’re only as good as our last project after all, and our partnerships make us who we are. So let’s take a dive into not just creating the GDUSA award-winning Biovanta website, but into how it all came to be.

Grassroots Marketing

Grassroots Marketing

We recently brought a grassroots marketing campaign to life in Central Park for the family-owned snack company John Wm. Macy’s. Our experience got us thinking about the core aspects of grassroots marketing and audience engagement, and what it takes to create a successful campaign. It’s a layered concept, so let’s dive in together.

Happy (early) Birthday, Kim!

Happy (early) Birthday, Kim!

Happy (early) Birthday, Kim!

We’re up to our third April office birthday (and there is still more to come). However, this particular birthday belongs to the woman whose face you see first when you enter the office and the voice you hear when you call Vision. We stole a few minutes of her time to talk about her tenure at VCG, travel and birthday celebrations!

We’ll start easy. What’s your official title?

Admin…Office Manager…. sure, let’s go with Office Manager.

What’s a day in the office like for you?

Everyday is different and that’s what makes it fun!

Favorite place to travel:

(I’ll find out on my trip!) So far, somewhere warm with a nice beach.

How long have you been at Vision?

My anniversary is May 4th and that will be 13 years. (Wow!)

Do you have a hobby?

(whispers) I oil paint. Not a lot of people know that. (They will now!)

Where are you going on your upcoming trip?

The Netherlands and Italy.

What are you looking forward to most?

Wine…is that acceptable? (She chuckled.) Oh, tulips! I’m spending three days in Amsterdam and keep saying, “It’s so nice they’re having a parade for my birthday!”

Favorite VCG moment/memory:

Oh! When a prankster in the office completely wrapped a car in the parking lot in plastic wrap.

Favorite item(s) on your desk/in your office:

My smile on a stick! (It was a tough choice – she’s got photos and post cards and fun foreign pens, too!)

Happy birthday, Kim!!!

How to Write a Social Media Policy for Your CPG Company

How to Write a Social Media Policy for Your CPG Company

Yes, your company needs a social media policy! From a startup to a Fortune 100 company, you need a policy in place so your employees understand what is expected of them. At the end of the day, your employees are an extension of your CPG brand, from the janitor to your top executives. When they are out in the world they represent you – and part of that world now includes social media.

A social policy protects your company’s reputation online

Having a strong social media policy clears up any questions of what can and cannot be said about your company from an employee’s perspective.

A social policy can raise awareness for your brand

A policy isn’t just about restrictions, it’s also about what your employees can do. Their social media profiles and content can be used to enhance awareness of your brand. Your employees are likely your biggest cheerleaders. Giving them a policy that allows them to advocate for you in social can be a tremendous asset.

A policy encouraging use of social media helps attract top talent

Allowing employees to utilize social media will help you attract more talent to your company. Employees can showcase your company culture better than any corporate website and attract new employees that believe in your mission.

A social media policy helps to create consistency

By giving employees guidelines, such as how to talk about your CPG company, use of the logo, tagging the appropriate company/brand accounts, etc., ensures you’re all speaking from the same place.

We love Gap Inc.’s social media policy – it’s voicey, showcases their company culture, and shares both do’s and don’ts for their employees. We think it’s important in creating a policy for your employees that you find ways to be positive in the rules. (Not just giving everyone a list of “don’t do this!”)

There are a ton of great examples of social media policies out there. Here are a few more of our favorites:

Best Buy Social Policy

Coca Cola Social Policy

AP Social Media Guidelines

Adidas Group Social Media Guidelines

Happy (belated) Birthday, Katie!

Happy (belated) Birthday, Katie!

As one of the newest members to the Vision team, we didn’t bother Katie on her actual birthday…but a day late isn’t so bad…right? We sat down with the bubbly (newly turned) 24 year-old to talk about travel, life before Vision and what’s coming up next.

First things first, what’s your title?

Graphic Designer

What kind of accounts do you work on?

(She chuckled.) Everything and anything. I’ve dabbled in cheese, pharmaceutical and even touched the whiskey business!

What are your favorite types of projects to work on?

Branding stuff. So concepts, I guess. More creative, because you kind of get to do whatever you want.

You’re relatively new to Vision. What were you doing before you joined us here?

I was working at Applegate, the natural and organic meat company. I was a graphic designer there as well.

Do you have a hobby?

I taught myself to play guitar about four years ago and I bartend on the weekends. So yeah, basically that!

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Oh that’s hard. I think South America. I’d like to go there because it seems like it would be different than where I’ve gone already. I’ve been to Europe twice (Greece and Austria), and I’ve also been to Mexico nine times.

Tell us your favorite quote.

“To live will be an awfully big adventure.” – as said by Robin Williams in Hook.

We were going to ask if you had a favorite item on your desk, but there’s not a lot here. Do you have a favorite item?

Yeah there’s not a lot on my desk, but last year for Christmas I got a green beach cruiser bike. All it needs is a bell, but it’s fancy. I love it.

And last but not least, what are you looking forward to most in 2017?

We’re planning a trip to California. It should be fun, I’ve never been west of Pennsylvania (within in the United States).

We’re glad we could steal a few minutes with you. Sorry for the delay, but we’re glad you enjoyed your birthday!
